Olivia Pays a Visit to the Epilepsy Foundation's Baldwin House in New York
Friday, January 19
On December 23, 2006 Olivia, the first lady of G-Unit, made a surprise visit to the Epilepsy Foundation's Baldwin house in New York. It houses adults with developmental disabilities and epilepsy. In the spirit of the holiday season Olivia arrived with gifts and with a full catering staff who, along with Olivia, served the residents and staff a lavish holiday meal. Olivia wished not to comment on what the gifts were because it came from her heart. The residents and staff all were surprised that Olivia came and donated gifts to a population that is often forgotten or overlooked.
After the meal Olivia took pictures, signed autographs, and sang a Christmas song for the residents. When Olivia was asked why she did all of this, she stated "It is what you do when there are no camera's around & what you do as a person to give back a contribution to society in which we all live in."
The Epilepsy Foundation was founded in 1953 by a small group of parents who were determined to see their children lead productive, satisfying lives. Today the foundation provides education, training, and counseling to Long Island residents with epilepsy and related conditions.
